REGANS FAQs
Q: I’m a total beginner. Is there a class suitable for me?
A: Absolutely! Our beginner/intermediate classes are suitable for beginners.
Q: My cardio is non-existent. Will I be ok in the classes?
A: Yes, our beginner/intermediate classes are suitable for people with little to no fitness experience. We tailor classes to suit your fitness level.
Q: What is the youngest age you can join?
A: Our peewee classes start at age 5.
Q: Do I need my own equipment?
A: You do not need any equipment for your trial session, but you will need to purchase certain equipment depending on the class discipline. Your trainer will advise you what you will need. We have a fully stocked shop selling any fitness equipment you may need at very reasonable prices.
Q: Do you have lockers?
A: We do not currently have lockers. There are shelves in the gym where you can leave bags and shoes.
Q: Where do I park?
A: There is free three-hour parking on the top of the Royal Oak Centre. Make sure to put your number plate into the screen upon entry to Regans.
Q: I want to compete. How do I go about this?
A: We offer training for people who wish to compete in the England Amateur Association. In addition to this we hold many interclub and white-collar events (Boxing/Muay Thai) for individuals who wish to compete without having to commit to the regulations required by England Boxing. If you think you are at the level for our carded classes, you will need to do a beginner/intermediate session so that our trainers can assess you. Please let them know at the start of the class that this is your goal.
Q: Are classes mixed?
A: Our classes are for both genders at all levels. We also have women’s only classes run by the fabulous Emma Chan.
Q: Are there changing rooms?
A: Yes, we have changing rooms for both men and women as well as shower cubicles.
Q: Do you offer family discounts?
A: Yes. Please inquire at reception.
Q: What is the difference between Boxing, Muay Thai and MMA?
A: Boxing uses your fists, Muay Thai uses your fists, legs, knees and elbows, and MMA uses all the skills of boxing and Muay Thai plus grappling/wrestling.
Q: Can I watch my kids in their class?
A: We do not allow adults in the gym during kid’s classes due to safeguarding. However we have tv screens in our lounge showing the classes.
Q: Is there an area to wait?
A: Yes. We have a lounge with a bar serving coffee, alcohol and merch.

Q: Will I be paired with someone more experienced?
A: We have clients of varying levels of fitness and experience, and we aim to pair you with someone at a similar level. You will never be put in a position as a beginner/intermediate where you will be punched.
